Stardust and Dreams
a large scale fiber art triptych
Project description
Stardust and Dreams highlights the deep interconnectedness of humanity within the vast universal system. As beings made of cosmic stardust, we represent the heart center connecting earth and sky. Though we dream individually, we are also bound collectively—our paths intertwining, shaping, and influencing one another to create a more vibrant and thriving world.
Long strands of cotton, acrylic, and wool yarn drape from three four-foot wooden dowels, stretching downward from the imagined cosmos to ground us in our human experience. These strands, adorned with shimmering colors, intertwine in varied textures, mirroring the richness of life. Small wooden dowels intersect the strands, symbolizing our pauses, struggles, and moments of recognition—reminders of our connection to each other and the world beyond.
This work invites contemplation, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own strands of connection—to each other and to realms beyond the material world. Its colors evoke whimsy and wonder, transforming the space into a source of inspiration.
